Suggestions

Named by Shape of AI under Wayfinders. The blank prompt box is the highest-abandonment surface in AI products; suggestions are the ramp. The evolved versions are contextual (generated from your data, like NotebookLM) rather than generic marketing copy.

Why it works. Users don’t know what a model can do until they’ve seen it do something. A good suggestion is a capability demo disguised as a shortcut.

Steal: generate suggestions from the user’s own context; retire static ones. Skip: suggestion chips that are really feature ads — users learn to unsee them in a week.
