Furthest along where the assistant and the marketplace share an owner. Doubao’s version intercepts the decision — comparisons, budget picks, pitfall warnings — then hands the final commit back to the human. The trust boundary lands where agent design broadly is converging: upstream of the wallet.
Why it works. Purchase intent expressed in conversation is the strongest signal commerce has ever had; answering it in place removes the highest-friction handoff in shopping.
Steal: the anti-recommendation (“what to avoid” guidance) as a trust engine. Skip: auto-purchase. Nobody has shipped it to consumers at scale, including the company best positioned to — that silence is the finding.
